BEACON PUBLISHING
DETAILS
I built an identity and brand profile for an organization. I rebranded Beacon Publishing Group, creating a new logo, a stationery set, collateral items, and a brand manual.
CHALLENGE
Beacon Publishing Group is a relatively new publishing company, that unfortunately has a lackluster brand identity. Throughout the project I worked as if my professor, and class, were the client, making adjustments as they saw fit. It was difficult making changes to my work that I didn’t agree with. However, it enhanced the project and taught me an important lesson in client work.
PROCESS
The first phase of the project was developing an idea of the brand. Who were their competitors? What is their current aesthetic? What do I envision their new aesthetic to look like? Once I had an idea of what the brand’s identity was, I created the logo. Next, I created the signature and then the stationery items. Then I developed collateral items and pieced together the brand manual. Finally I printed the brand manual through the Digital Print Center, and made the hardcover and dust jacket.
